It sounds like you want to portrait that you have done a huge amount of soul-searching and psycho-self-analysis and you know yourself oh-so-well.

It's one of those non-statements like 'I can't stand dishonesty' (but not when my boss asks if I like her new clothes).

It says more about what you want to be like than about how you really are.

And finally, it's one of those statements that everyone thinks about him/herself. Everyone thinks he or she can accept misstakes. Because that's how we like to think about ourselves.
And in practice it makes all the difference in the world how big the mistake is, how much damage was caused and for what audience we have to admit it.
