Dirk has had the best career of any foreign born player, but the best foreign born player who played in the league was Sabonis. Problem was he joined the league well past his prime and about 6 knee operations from being himself. In the 88 Olympics he messed up David Robinson worse than Hakeem ever did

ever its a the Dream he's the greatest shot blocker and he could score... currently its a tie... Tony Parker and Peja Stojacovic... come on people... you got one of the best penetrators/defenders/finishers in the league and one of the best three point shooters... these Europeans know how to breed their athletes...
all those people that mention Dirk... shut up. the guy shoots below 40% when he should be shooting above 50% and lets not forget how much he chokes. I hate Wade but he's right... Dirk is the reason why the Mavs lost... he should've have stopped shooting and got in the post like a big man is supposed to

Nowitzki is the greatest current player, but Hakeem Olajuwon is the greatest foreign born player to ever play. He is a member the 50 greatest players ever, and is probably one of the three or four best centers in NBA history.

Dirk even though he doesn't have a championship but can any one else really hang with a 7 footer who has an unblockable jump shot that is more than 50% and can put the ball on the floor and is still improving.

I would have to say Dirk Nowitzki. The Mavericks are playing thier best ball and he's a key part. he's also one of the front-runners for MVP.

The real question would have to be who's better: The Nazzy (Novitzky) Or The Wall (Yao Ming).
I hate Yao, so i'd have to go with Novitzky.
