The Academy made a big mistake this yr by putting all the boring awards at the beginning of the show.Ellen wasnt as funny as I thought she would be.

The Oscars are truly boring...I watched about a half hour during the parts of foreign animation film and makeup design - I was yawning so hard I thought I might pull a muscle in my jaw.

ellen degeneres - i love ellen and i am always entertained by her
winners:
helen mirren - sure why not
alan arkin - i luv eddie murphy but alan was well deserved
forest whittaker - i've never seen the movie but i'm happy for him
jennifer hudson - proof that dreams do come true, even for an american idol reject
martin scorcese- kind of a lifetime achievement award with the win
the departed winning best picture - it was kind of a toss up to me, i was kind of expecting the unexpected

Helen Mirren - well deserved.
Alan Arkin - most definitely.
Forrest Whitaker - more than a bit of political correctness in there, I think.
The Unknown singer girl - I could care less.
Martin Scorsese - just as well for him that Hong Kong film makers know how to produce great films for him to copy.

As far as the Awards themselves, I thought they were OK. As far as the overall production, I thought it was boring, not very imaginative, too long, and I missed Billy Crystal as the Host. I expected more from Ellen and she really bombed out.

I didn't watch it, but I always check out to see what the celebs are wearing. Wow . . . there were some really nasty dresses.
