Have been in and out of court since 1998 my X hasn't paid support unless his wages were attached. He now sells real estate but everything is done under his wifes name I mean everything and if not he name it would be his dad or her parents everything is hidden and the attorney has helped with this. The three of them got together and came up with the best plan possible making it look like he owned nothing nor did he make any money. I won't ever understand how he gets away with doing this, he should be in jail doing time for child abuse/ neglect as of last 2/17/07 my children and I are homeless. I was hurt on the job 01/19/06 since then I've only been receiving disabilty which isn't even 1/2 of what I made while working, never thought Iwould be out this long. I'm not able to afford any kind of housing around where I am I've been living with a friend and he was transferd up to Nothern CA and needs to rent his home out so he doesn't loss it we tried to make it work but not enough funds

very hard situation. first, you need housing, then address the ex and his deadbeat self. most homeless people are families, just like yours, so you need to start squealing like a pig.

every state has homeless prevention programs; funding has been cut in this area, but you should be able to go to welfare and apply and get section 8- rental assistance or they should have emergency assistance. they can also help you find a place to stay until you find a home. they can also help you with a securtiy deposit (give it to you), and utilities.

they WONT tell you these things and some of these things they will deny. if they do, you need to FAX the Governor and visit your Assemblymen (they will force social services to give you what you need).

tell them you need emergency housing, or your going to be homeless.

call your local HUD office and tell them of your situation. they may be able to help.

also call your local Red Cross and Salvation Army. Call your area churches asking where the food bank is. go weekly. this will free up money for your electric, etc.

THE CHILD SUPPORT
you need to tell those reps that the child support would help prevent all of this in the first place.

contact your states Attorney General, Governor, and Regional FEDERAL Child Support Office by fax. in your letter, give your contact info, case number, his info and the problem. ask them what they are doing about it. tell them you respectfully request that the state and federal laws be applied to this case.

REPORT HIS DEADBEAT SELF to the IRS too.

all of the info you need is here. make sure you fax it, not mail it. mail ends up in someones 'to do" pile... but FAXING IS EFFECTIVE. fax that one letter to all of them. fax it weekly if need be.

keep on 'em. the squeaky wheel gets the oil, if ya know what i mean.

Sounds like the end of the world I know, my ex hasn't paid support for the last 6 years, and prior to that he had them, and I paid faithfully. He was supposed to be arrested for neglect and abuse as well and was not.One thing you can do is go to your local social service office and there, they should be able to help you with food, provide cash for shelter, like section 8 if you know what that is?They will pay your rent until you go back to work and then when you do they will pay a portion. If they offer you cash assistance they will also make sure that the father pays support regardless if he has a job or not,if he thinks he'll get away with that they will strip his license and this will be the state,so let him and his lawyer try to blind the state. It's a little bit harder to do since 9-11.Go to Blue Chip there you can get insurance for you and your family,if the social service has a choice of a plan pick Gateway it has everything and no co-pay.There are programs within your electric company and water company that provides a much cheaper rate or even a account with like say 700.00 in it and you get that to use over a period of time.Maybe some good private eye or lawyer Samaritan will see this and rush to your cause.Just remember what doesn't kill ya only makes you stronger and that can only better your children.Good luck in your fight and I wish I could do more.

Not to sound mean, but jump on the train my exhusband has not paid one dime of child support since we were divorced over a year ago either. As for being homeless, try going by your local department of Human Services, and tell them you situation, and they could probably stick you in emergency government housing, there is a program called families first that helps single mothers out, one of my good friends gets help with it, and they help you find a job. Good Luck
