When humans dream, they enter different stages of sleep. When the body enters a certain stage of deep sleep (REM) rapid eye movement stage, that is when we dream due to the fact that random neurones in the brain are fired triggering schemas, past memories, hopes and desires causing the images we see. ( well that is one theory i learnt). So if animals can enter the REM stage of sleep in theory they should be able to dream, i think i was told that Dolphins can dream apparently!

Don't know about wild animals, but my dog certainly dreams. I have seen him making running motions with his legs while he's been asleep. Maybe he's chasing that rabbit just one more time.
