I wouldn't in shark-infested waters.

Seriously I'm a bloke and I'd be pretty upset to find myself swimming around in your menstrual blood so just don't bother. Please.

um, okay.
YOU CANNOT SWIM WITHOUT USING TAMPONS
you would be making the water unsanitary even with the chlorine
also, tampons are not painful when inserted the correct way, and tampons come with instructions. Choose a tampon with the right size for your body and flow. try using a smaller size at first. If it isn't affective, get one size larger, then keep working up until you find one that works for you. don't worry about wasting any. Once your flow is lighter, use the smaller tampons.
Hope this helps!

Yes you can swim when you're on your period, however you do need to use a tampon. It is perfectly safe to swim on your period, in fact sometimes the water can make your period stop for a short time after swimming.

Just wear a pad under your swim suit and then wear a pair of shorts over the top. Once you are in the water, you should be ok.

You can. If you need to swim like if your on swim team, then its fine. Water is actually suppose to stop the flow...but be careful when you get back out...the flow will start again immediatly!

wear a pad with underwaer under your suit and wear shorts over the top. also i wore sports breifs over the top to keep the pad really close to my body so that nothing can getout. if you wear shorts over the top then no one will be able to tell. it sounds gross but have you tried using a water based lubricant to help you insert the tampon? It hurts, i know i couldn't use tampons untill after i lost my virginity and even then it still hurt.

Oh please no unless you are really sure that you won't be letting anything tiny bit out. Sometimes even though you think nobody knows, usually quite a handful took notice. Don't pollute the waters, no matter where it is.

Imagine this, a guy comes up to you to make friend but noticed something coming out...gross baby.
