What's the point of having a point?

If there is a point, nobody knows it. What is the point of the universe? Why does the universe, including all people, planets, stars, time and space itself have to exist? Why is there something instead of nothing? These are very old, thousands of years old, unanswered questions, and your question about planets is just a small part of the infinite mystery of existence.

The Matreix talks about humans and viruses, so when we have wasted this planet we will have to move on, how soon no one knows but my guess is one of the moons near Saturn. The planets are a result of the Big Bang and at the moment they are just interesting to talk about.

Point? There is no point, in exactly the same way as there is no point to life - we and everything around us (including the stars and planets) are a chance occurance.

Only a designed and manufactured item can have a point, and thus if there is a point, then there must be a god (call it what you will) to have designed and created us.

I am an atheist, and thus there is no point to anything (which can be a bloody depressing thought!)

Planets are created after the formation of a star. Is that what you want to know? How they came into being?

Planets do not have any points because they are round like tennis balls , except without the fuzz. Stars have five points except on a keyboard and then they have six.

Well prince, I think they where left over after God the Maker finished making Earth. You see, they were experiments, then Earth came along, he saw it was good, then stopped making planets, then started on Adam & Eve, and we have had proplems ever since, he should have stopped at Adam !!

I think physically they may have some impact whether or not we know exactly what it is. But for me, seeing as I don't know all the whys, I trust that my Creator does. He likes variety...vastly different planets, people, flowers, etc.

The point of planets is to support life like us. We are, afterall, living on Earth, a planet.
