Depends how old the tarmac is i wouldn't use a power washer because it will eat away at the stone and the moss will come back bigger, i'd try weedkiller in a powder form! It always does the trick for me

Dissolved 'sulphate of iron' from garden outlets, a cup full in a medium watering can works a treat, Also superb for killing moss up walls and on lawn.
s
Saves a fortune on branded products, check ingredients, usually states ferrous iron or something like that, it's the same chemical

The best way is to use a chemical called Bio mosskill. This actually kills the spoars, not just making it look like it,s died.As a weedkiller would do.Then warm bleach to clean up a couple of weeks later.Another thing you could use is Mortegg Winter wash for fruit trees or dilute some Jays fluid.

whatever you do...dont use bleach!
not good for you or the environment.
use a mixture of 75%vinegar/25% water!
Spray on when it wont rain for 3 days. It wont hurt the plants, except dandelions, breaks down rapidly, and is cheap
this works great for dandelions and for roofs
bleach is chlorine that is very, very bad for you. It is also an oxidant that could harm the drive, kill the plants, and it will look terrible with the uneven bleaching when you are done

The above answers will get rid of the moss, but it will grow back. Trim some trees/hedges to expose the area to sun to keep it from coming back. If you can't expose it to the sun, you'll have to keep at it.

Household bleach is good. Simply dilute to say 8 parts water to one of bleach and apply with a watering can with rose. Make sure that it does not splash onto clothes though or you will end up with white spotted trousers.

Does your driveway face North? If so you will get moss whatever surface you lay. Why kill it? Unless its really unsightly in which case spray with weed killer.
