could 2 green terrors get along with 3 firemouths in a 240?

Because the tank is so big the mix could be possible if you set it up right, but the important thing to recognize is that if the Texas decide they don't want the firemouths around, they won't be. It's much safer to match cichlid species closer in size and temperment.

Don't forget that both these fish are monogamous breeders and it's best to keep them in pairs so that they share the territory rather then fight over it. To achieve pairs it helps to start off with extra juveniles to make sure.

In a tank that size you shouldn't have too many problems. Be sure to have lots of rock, driftwood and similar structures for the fish to form territories and it should work out. The Greens will eventually significantly outgrow the firemouths, but with plenty of space they should be ok.
