I want to buy tickets for a concert when they are released on Fri, but want to know, which is the best way to do it!

Is it by phone, or online and is there a trick to get through?
These people who manage to get front row tickets easily and then sell them on ebay, how do they do it? (although if i do get tickets, i def wont be selling them!)

Online and through ticketmaster. That's how I always do it.

I'll stick my neck out and assume you're wanting TT tickets (Hurray!). Last time | was on ticketmaster site and my housemate was at home trying to get through on phone. She got engaged tone constantly and I was in a queue for ages but eventually it paid off and I got some!
My advice is to use ticketmaster (NOT other sites as you don't know what are dodgy ones...) as they are the official suppliers and if you phone venues you get re-directed to Ticketmaster. When you get in the online queue DON'T refresh the page, just be patient. It could take an hour or two but it's the best way!
Also - have a look round the site now and register now so you don't waste any time on Friday!
Good luck and have an amazing time - I can't go unfortunately as will be working in Canada at the time. Gutted...

How big of a band is it? I've managed to get front row seats before by hopping online (usually www.seetickets.com in the UK) as soon as they are released. However, most acts I see aren't the type that has everyone competing for tickets at the same time.

For a band that DOES have that issue and you miss out, you can check out a fansite forum -- I got GA tickets to Radiohead ages after tickets were available because fans had spares and were willing to sell me a ticket at face-value.

I've never had much luck with going to the box office, but some people do. It's just you have to be first or else you compete with everyone online, on the phone, etc. unless they set aside the first rows for box office.

My advice would be to browse various ticket sites to see if they are selling and what time, but if you want a back-up have a friend call. If you double up you can sell tickets on to other fans at face value.

Without a doubt, your best bet is online. Try to have a high speed connection (dsl, cable, etc) and connect yourself directly through the modem, not through a router.

Let's say the tickets go on sale at 10am. At 9:55 go to the tickets page for the show you want. It will say "not on sale yet" or whatever. Open the seating chart in another box (or print it) so that you have something to reference where your seats will be. Then, start hitting refresh over and over again until they go onsale. Once you get your seats, you only have 2 min to start buying them or they will be re-release and you lose those seats. This means that you have to make a snap dicision if you want them or not, because if you go back and try to get better seats then you'll lose the one's your trying to hold.

This method works really well and will get you pretty good seats if you're online before they go onsale and you get in right away.

Also, you should note that the best of the best seats are never available for sale. They automatically go to radio stations, friends of the band, venue owners, and ticket brokers. Alot of these may end up on eBay, but that doesn't mean you could have gotten them via normal means (ie ticketmaster or whatever). Don't get me wrong, you should still be able to get great seats, but don't expect to be able to find anything in the first 5 rows for the face value of the ticket.

Good luck!

When I was trying to get Take That tickets last year, I sat with a mobile phone, a land line and 2 browsers open on my computer. I just kept hitting redial on the phones and refresh on the websites and eventually I managed to get my tickets - great seats too.

This Friday I will be doing the same to make sure I get them again! I use Ticketmaster, but make sure to ask for on-line delivery of your tickets as you get them via email the day after and it saves any hassle. Sign up for an account with them today, doesn't cost anything and on Friday you'll be ready to go!

If you sign up with them now you can enter all you credit card details which will save you time at the point of ordering as you don't have to insert them again. Once you have managed to capture your seats on the site you only have 2 minutes to confirm your order before you loose them. Have the arena seating plan open up in another window and you can check if they are good enough for you.

Good luck, I'll be there with you!

Probably online, at the earliest time possible. If you do try buying them online, make sure to have your credit card and billing information ready. The disadvantage is that they might charge extra for shipping and handling costs.

Calling by phone might be easier but more of a hassle, so that might not work.

Going to the box-office might be the cheapest option, as long as you have your I.D. and other information ready, but you never know when they'll have any tickets available at that time.

Just a guess, but those people who sell them that way might be using the same techniques, but want to make a profit.

The people who get the front row tickets have an insider who gets the tickets for them. They may work for a ticket broker(scalper). The best way is online.

Go too whatever city you live nearest and go to the box office there. You SHOULD be able to get pre ordered tickets which look like the real ones but aint before the real ones come out.
