No not necessary to ban them, they are required for defense, if attacked they kill a lot of enemies in a short space of time and devestate the area where it has been dropped which could be a fast way to halt an enemy's advances. They kill, cause destruction on a large scale and remain radioactive for a long time after... Good if they are still your enemy afterwards, bad if it happens to you, and they clearly aren't environmentally freindly.

Actually when you think of it - the advantages and disadvantages of using nuclear weapons are the same.

Total destruction of our world and planet as we know it.

Some folks will say this is a good thing - and others will say that it is a bad thing - but the results are the same.

Nuclear weapons will never be banned for three reasons:

1) To many countries believe that it is necessary for them to have them as a strategic deterrant to avoid invasion.

2) You can't un-invent something. Even if they are banned, it will still be possible to make them and governments will do so secretly if they must because of reason #1

3) As technology advances, nuclear weapons will be come technologically and financially within reach of more governments and possibly non-government organizations. See reasons #1 & 2

Nuclear fall out!
Those who die in the bomb blast are the LUCKY ones!
The rest die a slow painful death through radiation sickness!
The skin blisters and bleeds, the gums bleed and the teeth drop out, hair drops out, and you eventually die of internal bleeding.
If you do not die, the chances of having deformed or mutant children is 90%.
Radioactive fallout is NOT confined to the blast area, winds can carry it HUNDREDS of miles away.
Try doing some research of Japan!
So YOU still want to keep the bomb?
