Its a commercial property. She had her husband clean the property for the first year. Now they are divorcing. She is trying to sell the property. There is nothing in the lease. This is why we need to know. Her husband told us it was her responsibility she says its not.

There was nothing in the lease except that we needed to clean in front of our doorway - which we do. There are 3 businesses and 6 parking spaces with 2 entrances. If we don't clean it we lose business the way it is right now.

Well it is the Property owners responsibility to have the lot and walk-ways cleared. But the easiest solution is to slip and fall while going to or from your apartment. Once this landlord/property owner hears from your attorney I can guarantee you're problem will be taken care of and you might even be able to move into your new home.

What does the lease say? What type of rental is it? My single family home rentals, it is the TENANT'S responsibility. For multi-family apartments, I do it (because no one else will).

its the landlords responsibility to take care of the snow, he owns the home. Does she make u mow the grass? she is responsible for that too, and any repairs to the home.
