No one here is really correct

Sirius is the brightest star as seen from Earth. It is only a couple times bigger than the Sun though, and not terribly remarkable.

Polaris (the "polar star") is not even on a list of largest stars.

KW Sagitarii is near the top of the list but is not the biggest star we know about (3rd or 4th biggest right now).

Eta Carinae is among the most luminous and most massive (as far as amount of matter, not size) stars we know about, but only in about the top 30 as far as actual size.

The top contenders for the largest stars in our Galaxy that we know about are VY Canis Majoris and VV Cephei. We are not sure enough about either of their sizes to know which is bigger (more likely to be VY) but we do know that both are bigger than any other stars we know about.

The biggest star in terms of visibility from the earth is the Dog Star, Canis Major, i.e. it's the brightest star in our sky. We haven't mapped the universe yet so we almost certainly haven't found the biggest in physical size.

Eta Carinae,

At 100-150 solar masses, and four MILLION times the sun's luminosity!!!!

This star can barely keep itself together and will explode as a hypernova.
