Very beneficial! Swimming with dolphins especially beneficial for autistic kids. Have not the time to go in depth.

just make sure the animal is protected from any cruelty. but, resoponsability, empathy, friendship, trust, confidence and interest, can all be helped along with the responsability and companionship of caring for an animal.

as long as the disorder is not killing animals.... this can be very beneficial.
