Liberal Hollywood loves to promote their liberal agenda any and every chance they get. If a conservative politician did a documentary supporting the claim that there are enough gun control laws on the books, if only we would enforce them, he would not even get a nomination. It would not matter how well the documentary was done or the impact it might have on viewers.

Hollywood is very liberal (all most as liberal as Al Gore) so he plays on the same team as Hollywood. The movie had it's points, but some of the facts seamed to be off. A movie is a little less creditable when it is one sided like "An Inconvenient Truth". I think a movie was made to counter "An Inconvenient Truth".

i'm happy his movie gained for quite a few motives. One because it helped me win my oscar pool. 2 because it became the acceptable Documentary of the year. The others were about how loopy Christians are or how insane the Iraq warfare is so i'm positive you would hate those too. This became likely the least offensive movie to Repubs. 3 because it really is bringing interest to an subject i imagine is significant it really is international Warming. i do not imagine he is going to run for president and that i do not imagine he is going to stay in Hollywood both.

The Academy Awards is not about popularity at the box office. You should watch the People's Choice Awards from now on-it will help you stop whining. Low-brow knuckle-draggers get to vote for "best".

An Inconvenient Truth-tons of people watched it, including us.

Al Gore's Air America?! What are you talking about? Air America is alive and well and is not owned or operated by Al Gore.

Now, please excuse yourself from comics and animation, as your question does not belong here. We tire of your presence.

The movies that win the Oscars are not necessarily chosen based on popularity; they are chosen based on merit. Gore wasn't trying to have a "hit" - he was trying to create a message, and that has nothing to do with popularity. As the "inconvenient" portion of the title would indicate, it was clear that he knew it wouldn't be popular. The movie WAS watched; it simply wasn't watched by idiots who let certain politicians do their thinking for them. It was watched by people with brains who care about the earth; clearly it was appreciated by those who aren't too afraid to look at the truth.

The Oscars are given according to artistic measures set and measures by experts. It doesn't have anything to do with boxoffice revenues or watching rates.

Oh that's easy. He's American and the winners are (nearly) always Americans. Cannes is a much better arena for seeing great films/actors being rewarded.
