It all depends on what they find at the scan. If you're in alot of pain then my guess is you wouldn't have to wait too long.

If you get your date a long way off in the future and it's causing you aot of pain it may be worth seeing your G.P as s/he may be able to push it forward for you.

When you have it removed, again depends on the size of it, you will be assessed to make sure you're okay to go home. If its not too big they may be able to remove it by keyhole surgery which leaves minimum scars and heals alot faster.

Everything will be discussed with you at every stage, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I had a 16cm cyst removed from my right ovary (had to have ovary and fallopian tube removed too) but was very fortunate that it was all done by keyhole. I was in hospital for four days in all.

It's sounds horrible, i know, but the staff at the hospital were brilliant. I'm sure you'll be okay too.

Hope this helps, take care.

I was found to have an ovarian cyst three uears ago. It is about three and a half inches diameter - tennid ball size. I have had two scans one year apart and they said that's it! I cannot have it removed on NHS as it's not necessary aparently, because it's harmless. I think if yours is bigger that this they may remove it but it won't be a priority if it's only a cyst.
