depends on what kind of look you want natural, day,evening etc. No matter what effect your going for always apply a natural colour over the whole eye area, cream, nude etc. Then apply darker colour in to the socket. Have a look on google images, some sites have great tips. Make sure you keep blending the colour together aswell. Apply little at a time then you can build it up. i would also use an eyeshadow brush then a sponge applicator

well i acnt wear makeup yet but if I could I would do the smokey eyes.do a thin layer of liner and then use dark colors that go ith you skin you get darker as you go to the upper side of your eye.or you can go with some thing more subtle.use pinks,violets,light blues ect. hope it help!!
