I have a Lexus IS 350 2007 and I heard some people saying that it's better for the engine if I press the brake before changing transmission. Is that true?!

When changing from Neutral to Drive, you should press the break. This is to prevent long term damage to the gearbox. However, as far as I know, there you can change back to Neutral even while the car is moving.
