please help me!!my paper is de tommorow and i really need your help!!so please,when is frictional force desirable and when does it become desirable??

Desirable:

You are driving along and a child darts out in front of your car.

You are a Survivor contestant and are trying to start a fire.

You and a partner wish to experience certain pleasurable physical sensations.

Undesirable:

In the design of perpetual motion machines.

When trying to maximize fuel economy and/or the lifetimes of mechanical contacting moving parts.

When there is too much friction in number three above.

frictional force as it defines that it is the force that opposes the motion of an object. so, to stop an object it is desirable. but in terms of walking, it causes the human being to walk forward because it provides a counter-force to which the direction of the human being. on the other hand, frictional force becomes undesirable since it makes the machine to be less efficient such as rust in the machine parts. as the results it reduced the expected mechanical advantage of the machine

There are many instances when frictional force is useful or not

In order to walk and move we need to have friction between our feet and the ground. When gas in a car combusts to move pistons, frictional force wants to be minimized to optimize output energy.

There are many many more instances however.

undesirable in race, industry
desirable when u want to get up frm ur chair where ur slippers pushes ground and frictions provide torque
when u run a race and would want to stop after completing
