Nope...periods and the hymen have absolutely no connection whatsoever.

The hymen is just a piece of flesh across the vagina...some girls are actually born with out it or break it during extreme physical activity or sports, such as gymnastics, horse riding and athletics.
The hymen has no particular function in the body.

Heavy periods are normally cause by drug intake, uterine disorders or just because the person experiences heavy periods, but I can assure u that there is absolutely no connection between the hymen being broken and the getting of heavier periods.

I found that for me after my hymen broke that the amount of flow of my period (which was heavy even before the hymen broke) remained the same.
