only used my laptop for designing, but now I've had broadband installed and surf the internet i'm out of my league its fun though

Upload = uploading a file from your own PC to say your e-mail when you want to add an attachment.
Download = downloading a file from an Internet website to your own PC.
Don't worry about surfing the web - we're all just a bunch of novices when it comes down to it. The trick is to simply type into the search slot what it is you're looking for. Lets say you want to find free art programmes. If you simply type 'free art programs' into your search slot you'll quickly find lots of these.
If you want an art program by the way, the best free one is Twisted Brush - so if you simply type that into your slot it will find it for you.
Always remember to scan anything you download from the Internet.

Uploading= you can take your files to servers on the web and there people can see it if you wish
Downloading= you can get files from other sites into your pc and also downloading is faster than uploading

Up loading is if you had a website you would upload it to the web server.. that your website is held on.. eg btinternet web server.
downloading is when you download your windows updates,, and other programs... you will soon learn

erm...basicly the diffrent between download n upload are download is the file that u wanted to get from another site or equivalent...meanwile the word upload is ur own files that u wanted to published to the website...4 example...u wanted to upload ur photos to the website let say friendster.com......

its pulling files down (download) used in browsing and pushing files up (upload) used in uploading to myspace , youtube etc
Your download will be much faster.
