"Women's studies" is actually an academic subject. People ask questions here that should be asked in "relationship", and things like that. But this section is about women's history and living conditions. When you study history at school, you always study it from a man's perspective, because men were the ones in power for a long time (and still are, to a certain extent).

"Women's studies" is part of the social sciences. So, here you go, you have your answer!

it really is a communicate board to communicate gender themes, which could comprise seriously analysing feminism. regardless of in case you settle with the basic tenets of feminism, the move isn't perfect and that i imagine it really is honest to say that it really is had both effective and unfavorable outcomes. the individuals making sexist comments are likely in simple terms trolls, I doubt even they trust the failings they say. yet wondering feminism isn't sexism, it really is open communicate, and that is what maximum individuals locate thrilling. adult men are welcome the following too, and not at all in simple terms in the journey that they help feminism! If someone wanted to omit to LGBT and (respectfully!) question homosexuality, it really is excellent to succeed in this.

I am a woman. The only reason why there should be a woman's section is that women's bodies are more complex and not to make light of it as being a problem...the end.

Other issues are not gender defined such as behavior, emotions, family situations etc altho some would like everyone to think this way even tho it ironically causes gender war.

A pastor once told me he questioned his wife's words due to the fact that women = emotion. This told me this man was trying to convince me that 1. Men are robots because he said so. 2. His wife wasn't present along with the fact he insulted the entire female gender including me. 3. Given the fact that my husband was present and struggling with personal issues I hardly thought it was healthy advice to deal with issues on a gender basis. I lost a lot of respect for this person's authority and title at that moment. Gender has nothing to do with behavior unless one is looking for excuses or ways to stray away from solution.

All of history has been mens studies.
All the wars, all the policies, all the power of religion and office has been a roll call of male writing.
Even the Bible was written about men.
The reason there is a women's studies is that women's role in the world has been relegated to the kitchen, even when it wasn't true.
Women's role in science and world affairs has been glossed over and 'forgotten' or taken for granted and never been given the recognition it deserves. womens studies is a process of making people aware of the real role of women and their importance in our lives.

Having a specific section for either of the sexes is sexism. It is just that, like much of society in America today, certain forms of sexism are not just allowed, but mandatory, as long as women are revered.

Because if they had a mens section it would be sexual discrimination and resugence of patriachy.

And feminists would have sleepless nights wondering what is happening in this section.
