Cutting out caffeine can be very helpful as far as the food and drink aspect. You could also try something like Ibuprofen and a warm, wet towel applied to the area.
Check with your dr as well for additional ideas.

Also, when you do get the pain in your chest try either a heating pad or some ice packs. I had to do this at times. I always took Midol when this happened and it worked for me.

Caffeine makes mine hurt pretty bad so I try to avoid it. And Motrin is the best thing I've found for pain, works better for me than prescription meds. But, everbody is different, the same thing doesn't work for everyone.

try tylenol...this happens to me, except its more of a shooting pain along the sides of my breasts...the tylenol helps me a little.
