we have different meanings for the same words but what makes me laugh is when we have different words for different things, see what i mean? my all time personal favourite has got to be bangs vs fringe, i love it but cant for the life of me figure it out, what your favourite

English f a g s are American cigarettes.
American f a g s are English G a y s.
English p u s s y is an American cat
American p u s s y is an English ladies fine er.............flower!
English trousers are American pants
American under-pants are English..........pants
Oh what trouble for Limeys and Yanks.
If an American is pissed he is not drunk (but angry instead)
If an Englishman is pissed he is not sober
If an Englishman is pissed off then he is like the American...........pissed.
It follows therefore that an angry American alchoholic must be
a pissed drunk whereas the Englishman must be pissed off on the piss.
However, an Englishmans piss is an Americans pee.
So......er........an English piss artist taking a piss while pissed off is the same as...........
A pissed American drunk taking a pee. (you see?).
Now, when an Englishman is taking The Piss, he is making a joke at the other persons expense but the American will just be pulling his leg.
Just to be annoying the Englishman will also pull his leg.
So any guy being made fun of by a Yank and a Limey is likely to have both his legs pulled AND the piss taken out of him!
I am really sorry if English is not your first language, you will find it really difficult to follow my meaning....Americans do all the time!
But my personal favourite is....... the English (friendly) military personnel carrier in a combat zone .........For an American pilot it's a mobile enemy missile launcher of course......(oh god I feel sick!).
Every British soldier knows that one! Americans just don't seem to get it. Never have .....never will.

I think cigarette & *** is the best. I was on the phone to a guy in NY once and said I'm just going out for a *** !!!!! He was lost for words until I told him it meant a cigarette here.

I don't know about english, but australian and american.
Jam = jelly.
To australians, jelly is a dessert. So my kids are really confused when Barney the Dinosaur makes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It grossed them out because they didn't quite understand he actually meant Jam!

I don't know.. I think the my favorite is the US dumb VS the British dumb.. They got different meanings.. The US is as in stupid and the UK's is as in not being able to talk.

Has to be fanny! When Americans talk about their fannies and even their fanny packs, it makes me laugh. I'm not telling you what it means here though, bit rude.
