There is a lot of talk about using solar power to supply the energy need of the population. Making estimates of the average solar radiation at the earths surface and the present and future needs of th population, find what fraction of the solar radiation needs to be utilized.You could expand it by examining the efficiency of plants, solar cells, etc to see if it is feasible.

take a spring balance and a mass ,stop clock n perform expt.
perform calculations for work,power and present them in a report for different masses,etc
