another possibility is that it is just a try on. 99p isnt a lot, maybe the seller hoped for a higher price, many make up their earnings on post and packing

It might just be a simple error, or it could be the seller realising they might not make much money off this sale.
Check the item description and postage information again carefully, to make sure that you aren't being charged for postage to overseas or the channel islands or something. Also check that you're not being charged insurance. Click on "recalculate price" on the buying page to correct any mistakes.
If you're certain that the postage should only be £1.01, and you can't change it yourself, contact the seller and ask them to change the amount. If they advertised it, they have to stick to it.
Good luck.

Unless this was only the basic postage charge and another was selected by you at the point of sale, which is an easy thing to do when you are new to ebay, you should only have paid £1.01. Most ebay users are nice people and if you email this seller and explain you may have made a mistake I'm sure it can be sorted.

before paying for the item, ask the seller why the change in postage. also, read the ads carefully, if you are in the usa and the item is in europe, the ad might say "shipping in the UK and europe is 1.01 pounds", meaning there might be an additional amount for shipping OUTSIDE of europe.

If I have been you, i'd furnish up a reimbursement for the DVD basically, no longer for transport in spite of the undeniable fact that. I state in all my auctions that I settle for returns, client will pay for transport decrease back to me, and no transport is refundable. good success!
