Are there compatability issues between iPods and Windows files?

I'm thinking of buying an iPod. Is it naive to assume it will be easy to transfer tunes from my Windows Media Player library?

when you buy a ipod, you will need itunes, when you instal itunes , you need to tick the box when it asks you 'Do you want itunes to be the default media player' say yes

everything should go ok after.

yes, as far as I'm aware - ipods won't play .wma files
