You can't make someone care for you. Maybe she treats you the way she does because that is the way you act (I am not being nasty here). If you act 'pet like' or as a 'burden' then I am afraid you will be treated like one. This is a common occurence. Try being more assertive and see if she treats you any differently, if not then I would end the friendship as you are clearly not getting anything positive out of it.

Hi there - something I've learned in life (59 years and counting!) is that however hard you try you can't make people like you, or behave in the way you want. Generally speaking, you must accept them as they are. It seems that this person just wants to be a casual friend with you, and perhaps the fact that you are expecting more is a bit offputting for her. She seems to have a busy life, and I think that may be the answer for you - get busy with work, hobbies, activities - make your own life full and interesting, then you won't be so dependent on others, and you'll make lots of friends! Good luck!

You can't change your friend.
You know she doesn't care about you. If you ignore her she would only be interested in getting you back to use you again. It would not be because she cares - only to use you.
Why would you even want a so-called friend like that? End it.

Find another friend. You say you feel a burden but at the
same time you are saying how bad she makes you feel.
This is not a good friendship. She should be there for you
too. And should not get bored with you.
You have got to be strong and stop using all your energy
thinking about this so called friend.

She might start caring for you if you ignore her,but i think there's a greater chance of you losing your friend. The ideal thing to do would be to talk to her and explain that you need more of her attention and care or get more friends.I think you might be being a bit too clingy and needy.I'm sure that there are many others you can get as close with.Just give it a try.

you cant change people and no matter how much it hurts you have to move on or at least distance yourself - get other interests put yourself out there you will soon meet a person who can be a good friend and you never know she may come round when she realises you are less needy.
