Watch it in chronological order. It makes more scence with what happenes in the Classic Triology because the prequel triolgy was made to show the past of the charcters in the Classic Triolgy.

Chronological order. Start with episode 1 and end with 6. Otherwise the story jumps around too much if you watch 4-6 first. (and this is coming from someone who hated episode 2 but enjoyed the other prequels.

to understand why people think the new starwars suck, watch the last 3 first. By this i mean the original 3.....IV V VI
now, the newest ones (1 2 and 3) were set up to be watched first.
Without giving anythign away, (1,2and3) deal with trying to figure out who the sith lord is for some time, while everyoen who has seen 4,5&6 know exactly who he is within 30 min.
But anyways, yeah i'd say watch it 1-6. You'll appreciate the 1-3 better than the rest of us who love starwars and hate them.

George Lucas himself says that episodes I-VI are one long movie, but in my opinion, you need to watch the classic trilogy first, and then the new trilogy. In the new trilogy, there are many references to Eps IV-VI that would make no sense to you if you watched them in numerical order.

It would probably be easier to watch the newest first. Either way the movies are still as much fun to watch. Hope this helps!

I grew up watching the first trilogy and loved it. I don't even want to watch the pre stuff, it just looks stupid to me (and I'm a die hard Star Wars fan).

Whatever you decide, just THROW OUT EPISODE 1. It was horribly written, horribly acted, horribly directed, horribly over-marketed, and only serves to confuse the story arc.
