Download CPU-Z, this application can tell you your RAM type .. get a new module with the same number like PC3200 etc.

whats your macine type? dell, compaq, which model, if custom built, whats the mother board
just need to look at speeds, see whats compatable
look at the one thats in should say 256Mb PC2700 or something
