Well, according to the testimony of the authors of the Gospels, 5,000 people were fed from a few loaves and fish. It makes no logical sense, so I see it as a miracle.

Well feeding the 5,000 with 5 loaves and 3 fish. That pretty much equals a miricle, especially because there was so much left over.

There are a number of books worth reading on the deliberate symbolism used in the bible by the people who wrote it. They rely on much of the work discovered in the middle of the 20th century, at Nag Hammadi and Qumran (just outside Jerusalem)
They are:
Jesus the Man by Barbara Thiering
Crossing the River of Fire by Wilf Wilde
Bloodline of the Holy Grail by Laurence Gardner

It really does not matter. Believe what you believe in, regardless of what others think. I live with a Buddist, I am a Christian, neither of us goes to church, but I believe it is what you do when you are here that counts. Not what religion or how often you went to church. Some people who go to church would not give a nickel to a starving person on the side of the road. IT WAS A MIRACLE !

Any Christian (who really is a Christian) will view the feeding of the 5000 as a true miracle.
a few small fish and a little bit of bread, possibly enough to feed 2 or 3 people from the way it is explained in the text of the Bible becomes enough food for 5000 people and there's LOTS of leftovers...
Yes, thats a miracle.
Some try to explain it away as people adding to the baskets as they got passed around... but the way the text reads, the people were hungry, had no food with them except this little bit that got found and miraculously multiplied.
According to custom and law at the time the text was written, the testimony of 2 witnesses was conclusive proof... and there is testimony of more than 2 people for the event being a miracle in the Bible.

I heard a talk on the radio some time ago regarding this. The explanation is, in those days people generally had some bread and dried fish with them when they went out for the day, sort of packed lunch. Those who had excess shared with those who had turned up without.

Where are the miricles now?? What about Darfur, there are a lot more than 5000 hungry people there, so why has God done nothing this time?

I do think it happened but I think like all story's it has been exaggerated and distorted as it has been told by person to person.... He probably rustled up a lovely meal for a few mates with not much food and this got changed just like Chinese Whispers

I suppose firstly you have to believe it happened rather than the story being an analogy of how one person can help many.
