Bulgaria is rapidly turning into the Spain of the East.. What a lot of us Brits are doing just now is trying to understand the Red Tape..of buying up the very reasonably priced property... sounds a wee bit like Spain Circa 1980..

Most english ex-pats i know in bulgaria are either in the building trade (and use local men for the work), or go into real estate. all highly lucrative as far as i can make out!(I should know as i have bought a house out there!). Incidentally teaching English is a good move....and learning Bulgarian!

Good luck wish I could afford to buy somewhere even if it is abroad at least I would own a house!!!

They are in real estate, run family hotels and/or restaurants. There's also the option of teaching English.
There's a need for programmers. Professional plumbers would also easily find jobs.
