over here in my family it's the girls. we all love math. some of us geometry some of us algebra and some of us calc. but none of my brothers even remotely liked it. also all of my sisters including me have very visual ways of thinkinf so that helps in solving space problems and visualizing things without having to write them down.

Liking a subject is based upon social conditioning and upbringing. Girls are usually brought up as homely types who just keep to the running of the house and don't bother about the rest.
This translates into a distaste for things technical, including Maths.

i think that the average boy likes math better, but the above average pupil enjoys most core subjects, including maths, no matter what gender. i was fairly comfortable with math and numbers in school, but then, there were a large number of girls in my classes who had a deeper understanding of algebra, trig, etc., so i guess i can't really say one way or another conclusively.

My son loved it. My daughter did not. She watched her brother breeze through it then hit a bump in highschool and he struggled. She saw a smarty-pants become frustrated and she reached the conclusion that if he had a hard time, how in the world could she do better than him. We tried to talk to her about it but the visual of her brother losing out to math cannot be erased from her mind.

Is it because of xx or xy or yy or what?...
Math solving needs good processing power. Boys seem to do better in that area.
Some other areas like history etc., need good memory power. Girls seem to to better in that area.
This is my general observations. Girls are pretty good at remembering where as Boys are pretty good at doing stuff..
But I have seen girls outperforming boys in Maths too.

boys i guess. even though i am a girl and i like math, i find that boys usually score higher in math and they like math a lot. maybe this only happens in Singapore; afterall it is based on my experience. hope it helps(:

I think girls like math better until they are punished for it. Then, of course, boys, who are not punished for liking math, like it better.

Boys can perform well and better than girls in math.Girls are good at mesmerizing and boys are good at calculating.

why all the maths questions!???
no one likes maths but we were made to do it at school, thats the end of the subject for me!
