Well,i'm a girl and basically i like having boys as my friends.This is bcoz in most cases i have found that a guy who is ur pal is really sum1 who is reliable.On the other hand,any girl who is a friend,has some envy or jealousy hidden somewhere.I'm not implying that i am an exception.Of course,this is a generalised comment and not true always,but it tallies in most cases.However, I can't explain why boys too like to b friends with girls,except the facts that there is the basic biological attraction between the opposite sexes.Moreover,i also think that the rough attitude of boys is totally contrasting with the gentle attitude of maximum girls,and even this can b the cause why they pair off well.When i referred ur ques to my lover,he said he had no ans to the ques since he himself didn't know why he loves me,exceot the fact that i'm different from others.And when i asked my best friend(a boy) the ans,he said that somehow he couldn't reveal the soft points of his mind to any boy like he could express b4 me.Sorry if my ans doesn't match ur expectations

Well it isn't that simple. There are boys who would like to have boyfriends and girls who would like to have girlfriends too. At the end of the day everyone needs to have someone with them who cares for them deeply and loves them dearly, in a way that is different to the love/care of parents and siblings and family. It helps with the circle of life too. You ever heard of the phrase "Everybody, needs somebody"?

it a natural thing...opposites.
some people have difficult time being by themselves, so they get an opposite to be listen to and to loved by the other person.
imagine if boys like only boys, and girls like only to have girls...we wouldn't be here today probably

Some girls wanna have girls, boys wanna have boys..... People wanna have a close person (sex doesn't play role here), they wanna feel confident and protected, they wanna BE HAPPY!!! And don't wanna be alone! All great things are simple!

well the thing is... I, as a girl, prefer to have guy friends rather than female friends. and the answer is easy: girls have the tendency to be bitchy... yeah I know I sound bitchy too right now, but that's the truth. most of my friends are guys and they understand and help me... not to mention they kick serious a.s.s when somebody hurts me :P
