Yes, I do. Then I pick them up and cuddle them. I don't want them to think for one minute that I hurt them on purpose.
I don't know if they understand, but I do know loving them afterwards they do understand. I hope they understand that I didn't mean to hurt them though.
I talk to my cats all the time, not just when I step on their tail or something. My husband is always asking what I said from the other room. I always answer, I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to the cats.

i do it all the time. after that they act like everything is just fine. i tripped over my house rabbit and dog while carrying a bowl of soup, which ended up on the wall and ceiling. i apologized but my dog kept licking soup off of the wall as the rabbit just enjoyed the petting. i think the dog planned the accident.

I usually cuss, LOL! My cat is constantly underfoot. He will actually stop right in front of me in an effort to get pet, but if I don't notice him there, I invaribly trip over him.
I always apologize to my dog if I step on him, though.

I always apologize when I hurt him like if I step on him or cut his nails too short. And I believe he understands what it means because everytime I say sorry he wags his tail and licks me like he's saying it's okay!

I always do. I usually end up screaming "OMG! I'm soooo sorry!" and rushing at the poor animal to check it for life endangering injuries to toes or tails.
All the while they give me a look like I'm crazy, lol!
Lordy,I panic easily when it comes to kids and pets, thankfully they both survive in spite of me.... ;)

Yes I always do and make sure my cat knows I didn't do it intentionally. But isn't it amazing how they seem to always land up somewhere between our feet? My cats have it perfected to an art. You would think being kicked and trampled on (accidentally of course) would teach them to stop.

My cat trips me on purpose. I figured that out because each and every time I step on her she only runs a few feet away before rolling over for me to rub her tummy.

Oh my yes I sure do! I am in a wheel chair and I have ran over my cats tail and I picked her up and told her how sorry I was and that I didn't mean to do it and that I loved her. I know she understood because she kissed me square on the mouth! She started to comfort me.

Of course I do! I tell it I'm sorry, kiss it, pet it, hug it, and try to make it feel better. Poor baby.
