Hydrogen peroxide. Use just about 1/2 cap full. Tilt your head to the side, pour it in, and leave it there (head tilted) for about five minutes. You'll hear it fizzle. Feels great. After about five minutes tilt your head the other way to let it all drain out. Clean up the excess with a q-tip. Repeat on the other side. I do it about once a month.

get some hydrogen pyroxide -
lie down with a towel under your head
take a capful and place in your ear - enjoy the bubbles
when the bubbles are gone - you can either do it a second time
or turn over - and do the other side (2x if you want)
then go to the bathroom - draw a lavatory of warm water(NOT HOT)
get a 'syringe' - a rubber ball with a narrow exit tube
fill it up with warm water - no air
place tube in your ear leaning over the lavatory
and SQUEEZE with both hands -
and be astounded what comes out!
can do a second time - then let water out
draw a fresh water supply for the other ear
same as before
if you can make a mixture of half alcohol and half vinegar
place a couple of drops in each ear
dries the water out - gets rid of any fungus!
best of luck

A gentle stream of warm water directed into your ear (using an rubber baby syringe) can dislodge excess earwax. There are also commercial ear drops containing carbamide peroxide that do the trick, though be sure to warm the drops by holding the tube in your hand for several minutes prior to application, as cold fluids in your ear can cause temporary vertigo.

Never use q-tips! Buy an ear cleaning kit in the store, in it you will find a syringe and drops, use the syringe to clean your ears with warm water, use the drops about once a month to keep your ears clean. Works for me.

you can use q-tips, i'd recommend just slightly moistening it first. one of the problems with q-tips is that sometimes they can push ear wax just deeper into the ear or on some rare occasions, even damage the ear drum.
another option you have is go to the doctor and have your ears professionally drained. its about a 5 minute procedure, completely painless but definetely a weird feeling. i had to have it done once because of a blockage created by an earwax build up from q-tips. i don't think its expensive either.

well u can remove it after u shower. but it really is not necessary to remove it as ear wax act as a physical barrier against infection
