Hi, can anyone just give me some background on what the economics degree course it like? What sort of A level subjects are important? Thanks!

You learn about how the UK and international economy works, in theory and in practice. You also learn theory and practice of microeconomics, especially theory. And statistics.

Some schools and colleges teach economics for A level. Might be worth your finding out if that's possible for you.

Otherwise the most helpful A level to do is Maths.

If you have the possibility of studying politics or sociology for A level that kind of fits in too.

Failing that, history probably is the next best, at least you learn something about how governments think and work.

French, Japanese, and/or German is useful if your purpose is to work for a bank or a large company.

Maths is the most important aspect.
