Is it just me or do other people think that it's rude when .....you have called someone and left a message, and they return your phone call with an email. If I wanted to just send an email to converse, I would've done that in the first place. To me it seems as if people make phone calls because the want to speak to the person. Your thoughts please!!!!

I'll narrow down the situation some. When phone calls are made during non-working hours. I really don't usually make calls when people are at work. But, I am a HUGE fan of text messaging whenever I have to sit through long meetings!

yes and no.
Sometimes people respond by e mail if they are in an office environment and would rather others did not overhear their conversation. An e mail allows for confidentiality in this respect.
Also for many who are busy it is quicker to send off an e mail rather than make a call-especially to another who is working and needs to be located via a busy switch board
Also if the call is business/non social then many (including myself) prefer to have a record of a 'written' conversation.
Other than that I agree from a social standpoint it is impersonal and somewhat offhand

text cloth messages and get in touch with calls could be replied to interior 24 hours. in case you fairly don't have the potential then once you do say sorry for no longer getting back. do no longer make a habit of waiting too long because of fact human beings gets irritated. you have greater time on e mail on account that no longer anybody exams their e-mails oftentimes.

I don't think it's rude. Some people prefer one medium over the other. Personally, I hate the phone, and prefer conducting my communication via email as much as I can. If someone calls me, I will email them. They get a much quicker response from me that way.

i think it's kind of a habit that me and my friends always return call/email with the same media, so I never thought about it. however, personally, i don't care too much.
