Algebra prepares you for better money management.
If you plan to be a street bum you don't need it.
History helps you understand how the world got into the condition it is now. If you want the world to get better, then you need to know who made what mistakes and try to not repeat them.
*************
Note that they don't teach you the most important rule about money management in school.
The power of compound interest.
If you have $4000 in credit card debt and make minimum payments it takes 40 years to pay off and you pay $80 a month in interest.
If you put $80 a month into savings for 40 years you'll have at least $300,000. (possibly $1,000,000 with good investments)
So.. do you want to give the credit card company that $80 a month or pay it to yourself?
