Because sex can be very intimate and is a way of showing your love for someone. It is also something that gives us pleasure. Having sex without wanting a baby is a good thing not a bad thing.
It sounds like you haven't been educated very much with regards to sex. If someone told you that you should only have sex when you want a baby then they are totally wrong and misguided.

Like most people have said, sex is a pleasurable activity that in the right circumstances is an intimate act that can make a couple feel closer, can make you feel more relaxed and is a great natural high.
A baby on the other hand is a LIFETIME of worry and of responsibility and a complete lifestyle change. If you are not ready for that then it makes sense to enjoy the sex and use protection not to get pregnant!

because otherwise I'd have about a million kids by now!! i don't have sex to have a baby i have sex because its enjoyable and because i love my partner and the closeness. Its not hard to figure out why people want sex without the babies!!

Yes I understand. It sounds like someone you know has done the deed and now regretting the fact they are pregnant? I agree it is a shame that some people out there forget that unprotected sex can lead to unwanted pregnancies and that they are actually playing around with life itself. Thankfully there are people out there like you and I that realise this and will safeguard ourselves from unwanted pregnancies.

You sound very young.
Ok...
Sex is all about love and affection and fun and hormones and passion and drive.
Most art, music, songs, style of sprts cars, fashion etc are all about attracting the opposite sex.
its all about emotions, feelings, not being lonley and hurt.
How well you do with the opposite sex is how you are judges ie cool or a nurd, ugly or beautiful.
its what life is all about.
but unless you are in late 20s or beyond.
having a baby ruins your life.
As yoiu can't go on proper nohildays, cant go out and have fun with friends, you end up have few friends, no money,.
you drop out of school with little qualifications and end up in a horrible job or unemplyed, no toys, no nice clothes, you cant just go out with friends and have fun.
You have to look after the kid all the time, children are often crying, or needy and stressful.
Kids cost lots of money, you no longer have control over your life. It can be very lonley as hard to get a date, no dancing nothing

Because sex feels good and is fun. Babies are a lot of responsibility.

There are a few different reasons.
1. It feels good.
2. Its a social relations thing. By performing in the act of intercorse we show our partner our feelings for fondness and friendship. Dolphins do the same thing.
But mostly because it feels good.

Done properly sex feels AWESOME...
Why keep that just for making a baby? Why should we not want to do that just for the sake of pleasure?

We are sexual beings. It is very healthy for us to have a sexual life. That does not mean that we have to have a baby every time we have sex.

people are different and what pleases one person doesn't seem ok for another. sex is just for the action and not wanting a baby is not that ususual
