Even a casual history student knows that all Empires rise and fall. It is an unavoidable, historical truth. To expect any particular era to go on infinitely is not logical. The question remains if this country has reached its apex and is on the way down. Also you must keep in mind that the "fall" is always from within and external forces are incidental. The current polarization of the American society appears to be just that schism that precedes the fall.

I don't think America will fall, at least from a military view. I think it's possible that economically we may have another depression, especially if we are hit by several large terrorist attacks. I say that because 9-11 cost us $2 trillion in trickle-down affects, including increased military spending, new weapons, creation of a new branch of government, Homeland Security and its funding, along with other major alternations to businesses throughout the US. We also have to worry about illegal immigration and our open borders. The American voters have to get back to wanting to take this country back in a way that is stronger and safer, and not looking at everythng as if the "sky is falling" on top of us. We are a major power now, but we need to respect other countries & not automatically assume they are enemies. Most people in the world want peace. I don't know if the US will stay alive forever. We have to pick our fights wisely & only if necessary. We have to be willing to seek out diplomatic solutions. We have to pay our bills, reduce the deficit, balance the budget, care of those people who need it, have a better healthcare plan, and shore up the safety net. Keeping the people happy and optimistic will be the key to our future. Peace, security, and well-being of the country. Those are the keys.

nothing lasts forever.. the US is not exempt from that rule..

If the US were to fall, it would most likely send the entire world back into the days of feudal monarchies.

Dukes, barons, earls, knights, serfs, and slaves. History has been proven to repeat itself time and time again. Get ready for the Middle Ages 2.0.
