Hey there,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some good links to sites that can help me with tracing my family back and seeing if there is a connection with any royals/nobles. I know that my family origin on my father's side is scottish and german, and on my mother's is irish and german. My grandmother was born in scotland but moved to england when she was 5 and emigrated to Australia at 17.Thanks so much

For the Scots, the excellent site www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk allows you to search and view birth, marriage and death certificates back to 1855 (searching is free, viewing them costs money). You can also search for names and dates back to the 16th century, but there are no documents online. Start with your great-grandparents' marriage to get their parents' names, thyen search for their marriage, their parents, etc.
