I noticed theres a lot of complaints of the DS Lites hinge cracking. My DS Lite also has the same problem. Does anyone know if Nintendo is doing anything about it? Doesn't really bother me...still works fine but was just curious. Thanks

Nintendo will be happy to replace it, contact customer services on 0870 6060247 (do not worry about the 35min wait, you usually get through in 3 or 4 min). You may be able to get the retailer to change but you may have to be a) very nice, b) very patient or c) get them to contact Nintendo.

They might be willing to replace it but you'll probably have to jump through hoops with the customer service department.

From Nintendo:

"In the US, the reported number of small cosmetic cracks in the plastic hinge of DS Lite systems represents less than 0.02 percent of the total units sold. This cosmetic issue in no way impacts the gameplay or integrity of the DS Lite. Nintendo stands behind the quality of our products and encourages DS Lite owners to contact our Customer Service Department if they are not happy with the functionality of their systems."

you may get replace housings on your DS Lite. they are actually not loose yet they are actually not high priced the two. It takes a splash sufferers and a splash means to alter yet my 14 yo did it in approximately 3 hours and have been given a custom shade (Mario pink) to pass with it too! there is even a handbook on the internet internet site that shows you step by skill of step on the thank you to try this as properly. good good fortune!

I heard about this stuff happening a few months ago. I think if you contact Nintendo about this they will fix it for free.
