They all got 5 stars which is pretty good to be honest because gauranteed if someone had a complaint it would definitely be on there - people are twice as likely to comment if they have something negative to say.
The more established brands are always more expensive because they know people will buy their products for reassurance. I'm sure Acer will increase their prices once people totally trust their brand name. In the meantime they do seem to be offering genuinely good deals.

my wife recenlty baught an ACER laptop from walmart. I think she spent about $750. The first thing I thought was. oh lord, a laptop from walmart. crap!' but in reality I've thouroughly impressed with the purchase. I have yet to try any 'hardcore' games on the system but the basic surfin the net, downloading music, streaming videos. etc. have been smooth fast and efficient. The one she got also has a pretty nice camera built in. Takes clear pics. I've gotta admit when I'm wrong and lately I've found myself on her laptop more often then being on my PC.
As I am now :)
It's a good buy for sure

It's good if you pay the price, don't be fooled by the low priced ones, every brand is the same and you get what you pay for. The more you pay, the more you get in terms of quality, it's not only the CPU/Memory/ram which improves but the overall quality of the components.
So yes, I'd recommend ACER (I'm typing this on one atm) but I wouldn't recommend ANY of the low priced laptops.

The Acer laptop is your best bet if your buying a cheap computer.
when buying a computer always check out the after sales service, by phone if they are quick off the mark and answer in a few minutes then thats ok but you will find that the big names
Hp, Compaq, Dell, Gateway, will take ages to answer your call.....
so their after sales is not too good so the choice is yours

If your reffering to the pc world adverts, then i wouldnt buy the £499 laptop they advertise, however they are a very good company, very reliable!
Try some better places to buy from such as ebuyer.com

Acer is, well, good, but the quality of the thing itself is a little poor.

I looked them up a few years ago for work related purposes and was surprised to hear that they were at the time one of the biggest manufacturers of computers. I am not sure what they are like now but their size must say they are not a complete load of rubbish
