Are you a broadband user ??
If so you have to get a MAC number from your now provider and give it to your new choice in order to change. If it is dial up then you simply get onother ISP and cancel the old one. But why pay for dial up, there are severak that give a free service, Google for one.
But why pay for an ISP and then pay for phone calls as well ??
If you are UK based then Orange and Tiscali are free ISPs.
Once on the new, in the email account ask it to import your favourites before ditching the old.

Changing ISPs is easy as long as you haven't entered into a long term contract with your current Internet Provider. Just call them up and request that you wish to cancel your service.
These profiles that you are worried about just save all of that information to a safe place. In the event that you encounter problems later on you have that information. As far as you ISP keeping that information and using it; it's illegal, without you consent.
eBay and PAYPAL accounts and your bank account profiles have nothing to do with your ISP. You ISP only provides a means for you to connect to the Internet.
Say you switch from ISP #1 to ISP #2 all your online accounts are still going to be the same the only difference is who you pay to connect to the Internet.

Joseph ... It should not be too difficult, but there may be some issues to consider that you don't think about every day.
When you get the set-up and installation software for your new provider, you might have to de-install or disable your connection software from your old provider. Then you should proceed with installing the new connection software for your new ISP.
However, before you shut down your old service, you should look into all the important contacts you have that will still be writing to you at the old e-mail address. You'll have to carefully note all the places you do business with who'll be contacting you at the old e-mail address. Then you'll have to update your profile for each of these contacts to reflect your new e-mail address. In cases like this, it might be better to use your Yahoo e-mail account. Your Yahoo e-mail address won't be affected by your changing ISPs, but don't forget to update your Yahoo profile to reflect your other e-mail address too.
Good luck with it, Joseph.

Pay-Pal is believed to be the most secure method of Internet payment.
To change ISP you simply stop further bank payments to your existing ISP and go on-line and log on to another ISP and sign up etc with them.
