For acting in their best interests, carrying out their wishes, doing as he was voted into office to do, doing as he was encouraged to do across the board, and so on and so forth? So things aren't going so well and now he is the boogie? I don't get it. I am glad he isn't as fickle as the nation he represents, or Congress. Otherwise we would have troops going in just as fast as shipping out. It would be interesting to observe how the next President handles the situation, but I doubt the recoil of his/her actions will provide such luxury.

Hector, are you ever a sight and voice for battered eyes and ears. The libs are beating us all to death with their crap. I guess their logic is that if they batter us enough some of it has to sink in. I feel like you and I and a handful of others are like those trapped in the house in Night of the Living Dead. But, we're larger in number than the country is led to believe. I am hopeful in that. Stick to your principles. Too many are tossing theirs to the wind.

Good for you! Very well stated. I've been wondering the same thing. When I think back to the beginning, Gebhardt, Daschel,DEmo's and Reps. were right up there with President Bush. That was when the whole country was flying flags, remembering the words to our National Anthem, wearing clothing that displayed the flag, and some even painted their pick-ups in patriotic colors or had stick-ons of the flag or the American eagle. I have never seen such a fine display of patriotism. It was great! It was also shortly after 9/11. Bush said he would do something more than lob a missile into a tent and kill a camel and that's what he did. Who didn't watch Operation Shock and Awe? We weren't divided by party lines. We were all 'Americans' and proud of it. Then we started into an election year,(not presidential) but it threw us right back into the same old CRAPOLA, only now the media and the libs. had the war to BLAME on Bush to make the Reps. look bad. Politics as usual. Bush has said the same thing all along. He took a stance and stuck to his guns because he is right. What other president has had as much dumped on him. Not stuff of his own doing, but ex-presidents un-tackled, un-resolved or botched business. I think he is doing an admirable job and I think history will name him as one of our greatest presidents. I know I do. I still want to know, if all of these libs have all the answers---What are they? WMD's? How many people were found in mass graves in Iraq? How many bombs are still being exploded and killing people? What's killing all of these people? Not kindness, I'm sure. Bush wasn't the only one who believed in the reasons we are there. He's just one of the ones that are willing to not listen to Liberal ranting and continue on to do what needs to be done. OH, and Nancy-- If you believe all that crap, get some new sources. You hear what you want to hear and believe what you wnat to believe. Even Hill is in denial (at least in denying)

Did you read ANY newspapers in the last 7 years? First, Dumbya the Bush was elected by 49% of the 60+ percent of registered voters who actually voted - that is, about than 30% of the country. He did very few - minor and trivial - things he had promised and he has failed in every single significant action, most spectacularly in the war against terror. He has not accomplished a SINGLE TASK he announced. Do you know why "Mission Accomplished" is such a morbid joke?
But, all that aside - go learn to read and then read the papers you've obviously missed.

Hmmmm, I didn't vote for Bush. I didn't feel he would make the decisions in the best interest of our country. So since I didn't vote for him, but I voted. I can blame him for his actions, so can anyone else. Bush lied. The facts are out there. Incase you don't realize it, the troops are going in and out quickly in Iraq, they are just going right back after a short stay home. Bush is too hastey and makes bad decisions without getting all of the right info first. Any president regardless of their party should be able to make decisions calmly and reflect on the real facts, not just to try to get what another country has or to finish the job his daddy couldn't.

Can I just point out that if nearly the entire country are blaming him and are against what he is doing then he clearly isn't acting in their best interests. He is there to represent the country as a whole but he obviously isn't listening to them. I'm sure there were people in Germany in the 1930's and 40's who said the exact same thing about Hitler.

The question should be, why was he voted in in the first place. The guy is clearly an idiot. The fact is, he is backing away from a war that is not going in America's favour. He is the one who should take the blame. He wanted to be in there in the first place! Maybe next time people will stop and think who they are voting in, rather than the party they represent... Just an outsider's view on American politics...

PS, I agree with the person above, he does make America look like a huge joke! (I'm obviously not American) and I have nothing against the lovely people of America, but your leader is a tosser! (Sorry)

What part of Commander and Chief are you missing. Every soldier and officer in the war is his responsibility. He hold the veto over two of the four branches of Government. When the whole situation goes to pot he gets the blame. Look at the small indiscretions of Clinton he is no different he got the blame.

Because too many people are unable to think for themselves and instead allow these so called polls tell them how they SHOULD think. Doing what they think is the popular thing to do. I have never been polled, no one I know has either. Also, people have short and selective memories.

We blame Bush because what he said he would do and what he is doing are two totally different things. He wasn't voted into office to lie about who attacked up on September and send troops over to Iraq when it was Saudi's who actually attacked us. We blame Bush because he comes from a family who got rich off of oil and we have seen nothing but a steady incline in gasoline prices. We blame Bush because he is a menace to our society and he is doing nothing but making America look like a big joke!!

have you been paying attention?

you don't list one actual fact...

the simple fact is... many of his actions have been at the least.. very shady... WMD? he said they were there? that's why he said we were starting a war? Plume? at best it just looks HORRIBLE... regaurdless of the legality... a public relations nightmare...

can you think of a president that started a war for a reason that turned out to be false? I can't think of one? if you can... was that guy popular? I would seriously doubt it...

I wanted him to get Osama... that was my wish... he's failed miserably at carrying out my wish...

Unlike most observers, I do not think that "things aren't going so well" as you posit also. It is all going according to the neocon plan, unbeknown to George as he simply is the hood ornament. The plan is to bankrupt the country, eliminate the middle class and in effect orchestrate the Mexicanization of America where the modern day "Robber Barons" can do as they please. So they are right on target.
