somehow clips from a sony video camera ended up on my computer in img format, i want to edit them in windows movie maker, but i need something to convert them, i have been searching for weeks but i cant find anything.

I also believe Sony cameras also used .img for still shots. Try renaming the file to blabla.jpeg and view with a photo viewer

or you might try changing it to blabla.mpeg and view with a video viewer.

Nothing, img is not a video format, it is a disk image. If you have an image drive, load it into that. If you have a burn program with image burn use that to burn it to a disk. If you don't have an image drive, get something like daemon tools or alchahol 120%. The img file is a virtual cd to put it simply.
