Only if their bhabhi's could separate their parents from their brothers, would they understand the pain.
There could be different reason for the separation:
1> Need for extreme privacy, (I don't understand why does this privacy issue never pops out before marraige)
2> They are not able to adjust with the environment, (Again, the very same lady would never had thought of separating from her parents for petty issues. She would have instead easily compromised for them)
3> They don't respect husband's parents as they do respect their own parents, (Bull's Eye)
4> Revenge (She was separated from her parents due to her husband...LOL)
Whatever the reason is, Separation is never the solution. For the people who don't agree, time will explain you too...

I am married for the past 8 months. & i live in a joint family consisting of 17 members. Its just a dream to live seperately. But still like it because we will have privacy. & no body to poke their nose into our relationship. I am just tired & fed up just doing the household works from morn till i sleep late in the night. Hardly i have time to relax. When i go out with my hubby, i feel so much relaxed mentally & physically. As its a joint family, we just have to be puppets dancing at the tune of all my elders and bury all our wishes & dreams. Our minds looses the fresh breath & freedom which i lost after marriage.

Women want more, more, more
Husbands have limit. None can fulful all the demands of any body. Ladies want Raaj Kumar to fulful all dreams. My wife always tell me to earn more. She wants me to earn a lot each day so that she can buy latest, fancy, waste, donate etc.
Ladies refuse to make return gift.
Husband is not bad, cruel etc. Ladies make him Amanush.
Ladies start quarrel on any topic and blame husband for anger.

you did not make it a generalised question ,'cause you added 'most' These 'most' may either belong to the category of suffering women or those of liberal women. Each one has her own problems and one must understand by stepping into her shoes instead of branding them as carefree, independant women.
marriage has a meaning and a purpose which both husband and wife has to understand and live with it.

A WOMAN'S 4 FAVOURITE ANIMALS..
1 A MINK - TO PROVIDE A BEAUTIFUL COAT
2 A JAGUAR - TO RESIDE IN HER GARAGE
3 A TIGER - TO KEEP HER HAPPY IN THE BED ROOM
4 A JACKASS - TO PAY FOR ALL THE ABOVE
and to achieve this every woman need to isolate her beloved husband away from his family so she can control him absolutely with the EverReady help of her mother

Its a privacy thing. The family wouldn't always be around and personally I like walking around naked to do laundry I could never live with my in laws. Also moving around in your own space is kind of cool to tend to your hubby.
