Once my cousin had a drug problem, and told so many different stories why he need the money. After awhile we coped on and stopped giving him the money not out of cruelness but out of the fact we wanted to help but we were not sure what to do.
instead of giving him the money we but the money together and sent him to rehab but then once he came out he began to steal from us. He took my great great grandmothers wedding ring, the new presents i had bought for my kids and my own engagement ring.
Sadly he was gone to far for us to help him anymore and he did come to a bitter end, overdose.
but at least he is in a better place i would never what anyone i know and love to go through what he went through.

My youngest brother spun me some yarn about not having money for his kids Christmas presents well over 15 years ago, I felt really sorry for him and his kids so gave him a few hundred pound, only to find out later he has blown it on his fancy woman, I was very hurt and angry that he could use his kids as an excuse to con money from me, I would never trust him again now because of that and most certainly never loan him money either.

Yes. I have been played. It really hurts when it's family. They have all this jabber about how they will make a difference in this world. We gave my sister in law a car and cell phone. She has not done a dang thing with herself really. Some people need that fast money and they never learn the value of the process.

Yep, a "former" best friend. When I realized this, I was really disturbed and frustrated, however I might not have made some of the great friends that I have now had I not severed all ties with this person.

That happened to my friend. Her boyfriend took $7,000 from her account and lied and said it might of been his friend. Not to mention, that she is in college, at the time of need. He said he will pay her the money back. Now they are broken up and he still hasn't payed her back. She has his credit card and I'm disappointed to say that she won't get the money back that way.

its truly painful when its family because you can't really do anything. My brother was always stealing from us all. He asked us for money to start up his own biz and we gathered money and gave him he squandered it and came back telling us stupid stories!

Yes. My business partner. I believe in forgiving, but that one is still hard for me.
