Make sure you wash off any old deodorant at the end of the day before you go to sleep. Clean the top of your deodorant. Consider changing the deodorant entirely (especially to something with aloe in it). If you've just shaved, wait a little while before applying deodorant or just apply talcum powder; the deodorant might be irritating your skin through little nicks and cuts. Also change your razor blade; rust or soap scum might be irritating your skin. Clean your armpit with a cotton ball or tissue soaked in rubbing alcohol to kill off any infection.

If you are using the same deodorant the manufacture may have changed the formula of the deodorant and that is why you are breaking out / allergic. Another thing....have you changed laundry detergent lately? That could also cause that too. I would suggest using baby powder for about a week until the irritation dies down and then switch laundry soap if you changed lately / change to a different deodorant.

Try to avoid any deodorent for a while, put some medication cream on the infected area, go to a doctor for a check up, clean it every once in a while, while you are resting or reading a book or watching tv, try damping your underarms and letting it dry under the fan or aircon.

Go to a dermatologist. In the mean time, use Benedryl cream, and some baking soda. The baking soda will absorb any odor, and the Benedryl will probably help with the itching. Also, maybe some Neosporin will help with the irritation and prevent your from getting an infection if the skin is broken. Just be sure to keep it clean, and dry (baking soda), and get to a doctor ASAP.

I know this sounds nasty but you could possibly have a yeast infection under you armpits. My friend used to work with this guy who had a yeast infection under his pits. She said he would walk around showing everybody. That's just nasty. Anyway, you might want to go to a dermatologist or use a unscented deodorant. Good Luck!!!!

I was having the same problem. My pits would itch - and it was insatiable.....it was like it was itching beneath the surface of the skin. There was no rash or anything. Just this incessant itching. I would hold my deoderant for a day or two. I changed to other "hypoallergenic" fragrance free brands, etc, and still no relief. Finally I decided to give up deoderant all together. (Ewww). LOL. Actually I don't sweat much so its no big deal now during the winter. And my pits finally stopped itching - after years of itching. Now come summertime I'm sure I'll have to go back to using something. But you may want to give up the deoderant all together for more than just a day or two.

Bacteria might be building up. Try cleaning them. Also if you are at school and it itches, bring small hand sanitizer and put it on your armpits. It kills bacteria like that.
